Danny Coyles (SF), FIFA ’10 and You

TSG has had a chance to interact with some big-time USMNT fans through our little publication.

coyles

Proof that Coyles has a "diverse" clientele for soccer games -- that's pretty amazing...

One such fan we’ve come across is Steve Pritchard who owns and runs Danny Coyles fine libation establishment in San Francisco.

All you need to know about Danny Coyles is it was one of the first bars out of less than 40 establishments in the United States to sign-up for and show the English telecast of the USA vs. Honduras clash featuring such luminary stars as Conor Kersey and Charlie Davis.

Thanks Steve. Great crowd control and good work playing Radar from MASH all night.

So in that vain, come out and join Steve, Danny Coyles or your neighborhood USMNT establishment around the way for the FIFA Tour.

More information from Steve:

The EA Sports FIFA Soccer 10 Tour that is traveling across the nation will be stopping at Danny Coyle’s pub on Sunday 11/8 from 7am – 12pm so that soccer fans will have the first hand chance to try the world’s hottest sports game!

The EA Sports FIFA 10 crew will be on-site to explain game highlights and giveaway t-shirts to fans!  Come out and find out, “How Big Can Soccer Get?” You can follow the progress of the Tour on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/EAFIFA10Tour) or Twitter (http://twitter.com/EAFIFA10Tour), including all the latest details of where the Tour is going day by day.

Oh, and another note, the stop-in by EA coincides with a little rivalry between Chelsea & Man United on the same day (and shown on Coyle’s HD(s) as well.)

Now back to our regularly scheduled columns.

FIFA 10 is awesome!!! : ) . I am intrigued by the USMNT roster for the Game. Altidore I think is overrated and Howard underrated. They chose the lockdown defensive, Boca and Spector as fullbacks. in fifa 08 they listed Spector a lefty and 4 star weak leg. Now he is a righty with 5 star weak foot. But I still remember the long pass to Dempsey in Confederations. Spector used his natural foot ( his left foot) to put the ball in the box. No Jones or Castillo in for USA,

I haven’t had the opportunity to play much since I’ve been traveling for work, but I have to admit every goal I score with Charlie Davies is a little bittersweet.

I wonder if EA will release a roster update with Jones, Castillo and any other changes in the coming weeks. They do that for Madden as rosters change in the NFL, so I am hopeful.

Will do you mind listing the player ratings for the USMNT?

I haven’t bought it. I’ve always played PES and feel a little bit like I’d be cheating if I bought FIFA.
I’m too scared of getting pwnd by 12 year olds to ever play online, so PES’s shortcomings in that respect never bothered me. Last time I played the EA game was in 05 and the PES play style was clearly superior at that point. I hear it’s not anymore.
