It’s Time To Draw

Just about 17 hours away from learning the names of the countries the US will (hopefully) crush in the group stage of the World Cup.

No reason to speculate anymore as we will have 7 months to do so with much more information after tomorrow.

So, I’ll just leave you with one of my favorite ESPN promos for the World Cup to get you fired up (and since that is where TSG will be for the festivities). Oddly, I never saw this run on ESPN, just on ESPN.com.

Unfortunately, ESPN doesn’t allow videos to be embedded. So you’ll have to click through.

(Those of you who read TSG in the very very early days will remember this.)

Wow, those football fans are kinda week. Somebody should give them some real footage. Like how about that Honduras v USA game ESPN didn’t carry?

I saw it on TV twice during the Confed Cup. Haven’t seen it on the air since, not outside their website.

What ever happened to the Jozy Altidore “this is sportscenter” commercial? did I miss it while it was aired, or are they saving it for later? I just remember hearing a lot about them taping it during the first two or three games of the Gold Cup.

  6. It’s nice that ESPN put out an educational piece on the the beautiful game, but it was a pretty lame attempt. Instead of showing still frames of passionate fans. Why not show actual clips with sound that way it’s not about Kenny Mayne (who always covers things off the beaten path) waxing poetic, but instead real live fans proving his points.
