Juxtaposition: Junior Breaks Nose

Junior...mixing it up...

Update: Bradley is expected to be back in action next week….though possibly looking like Marcia from the Brady Bunch.

Just as we were receiving the information on Sweatpants Sr. winning coach of the year, we got reverse news on Sweatpants Jr.

Michael Bradley suffering a broken nose in training today with Bo’Munchen. Surgery scheduled for today.

We’ll label him on the Match Fit Index later this week.

Get better Mikey. The USMNT needs you…in some capacity that has hasn’t been completely figured out yet.

  1. This could be a good thing. He gets some rest and for God’s sake it’s not his knee or ankle.

I think we need to put together a column on “Injury putdowns: USA vs. ENG.”

Ha! I find it funny that Aaron Lennon and not Ashley Cole injured his groin.

  3. I could be wrong but I think you can play with a broken nose. Maybe he will have to wear one of those rip hamilton masks

My guess is this is not a Training Table injury, but more Magic (Nasal) Spray….

According to the linked article, Bradley was already going to miss this weekend’s game due to suspension anyway, so in that sense the timing is actually pretty good.

I just wish this happened the first week of May so Pops could experiment with new midfield combos against the Czechs and Turks for when he needs a new starter against Slovenia after Junior’s 90th minute dismissal for a late challenge on Gerrard that results in Howard stonewalling a PK to preserve the draw.

  6. Beasley and Edu are both starting. Dempsey is on the bench
