YEAH! GO CHUCK GO!
Kinda makes me tear up a little…
Posted by Kevin on 2010/03/24 at 1:36 PM
Is this a movie in the making? If we win the cup with him it would make a great movie.
Posted by matthewsf on 2010/03/24 at 1:37 PM
….and I think you just created a piece for us Kevin…stay tuned…

“Thank you… Thank you…”

They’d have to play Coldplay’s Fix You during the scene pictured above.
Posted by matthewsf on 2010/03/24 at 2:05 PM
Um…no they won’t… :>
How about Eddie Vedder’s City of Ruins…
Posted by Swa on 2010/03/24 at 6:09 PM
Or the original…
Posted by Nick on 2010/03/25 at 5:55 AM
Or Vedder’s Long Road.

Wow, now that’s a good sight to see.

Thanks for the photos…Pure awesome! There’s only one Charlie Davies!

That photo makes my day. I cannot WAIT to see the footage of him coming on for Sochaux in a few weeks.

click on the link and go backwards one picture. Looks like CD is working on his stanky leg.
Posted by Kevin on 2010/03/24 at 4:40 PM
Yes but thats just because the director asked him to.

Does it strike anyone else that CD looks a little bit uncomfortable running? I hurt my quadricep in high school and acquired the nickname “Horse” and not because of my tireless running on the flank. Everyone panic.

Go Chuck D. Be determined.
To me, he looks focused. A USMNT Man with a Mission.

is it me or does he look like he’s got a faint ‘stache happening in that first picture on sochaux’s site?
man, between these and his more upbeat return to tweeting again, it’s starting to feel like our old friend Chuck D is really back.
I can’t wait to see this guy playing again. like someone else said, if we somehow win this thing (I’m sure crazier things have happened), and Chuck’s on the team, this has Hollywood written all over it.
man, who would you cast as the guys if you were making a movie about this year’s Stars and Stripes (or any other edition you’re particularly fond of, I suppose)?
Posted by Marmaduke on 2010/03/25 at 5:52 AM
Anyone else see the get well video the team made for him?
An atmosphere like that can only help. I’m not sure about the guy in the chili pepper boxers though…

Can somebody please pass the wacky baccy that seems to be doing the rounds?!
Posted by johnapaz on 2010/03/25 at 6:10 AM
Ok George, we realize you might not be a US supporter, but let us keep our hope that our boy makes a full recovery…
OH, and as long as he believes, I do to… http://www.yanks-abroad.com/get.php?mode=content&id=6012

Keep your hair on John, I just pulling your chain.

Ok, I’ll put the Wayne Rooney voodoo doll down now… sorry mate, I get a little antsy when people start digging into maboi.

Saw that John — American Outlaws and TSG are preparing something for early next week.

Are we agreed that if CD9 scores at the World Cup there will no dry eyes watching?
I’m not a crier, but if Chuck makes the cup, then scores, I will be in tears. I don’t even really care if he makes the squad or not, and I suspect Bradley won’t include him on GP. But, man, that kind of story book ending would be too much…
Posted by johnapaz on 2010/03/25 at 7:24 AM
will *be* no dry eyes…
Posted by matthewsf on 2010/03/25 at 7:26 AM
I think where is he is great.
I’m looking forward to see who, if anyone, else steps up to the open striker role
Posted by johnapaz on 2010/03/25 at 7:36 AM
Agreed. I’m not holding my breath, but you can’t help but dream.
What about LD up there with him? LD and Charlie have very similar physical traits and skills, and if you give him and Jozy freedom to roam, I can see LD laying off to Jozy or Jozy holding it up for overlapping runs.
Anyone? Then Duece on the left wing, and whoever is healthy on the right… wait, if Stu isn’t good to go then I might not want to go with this, but LD up top can work to stretch defenses. Just finding who will replace him on the right would be tricky.

John: We have a four part series from October on Charlie Davies. I’ll likely update that in April
You can find the 4th part here with links to the other 3: http://theshinguardian.com/2010/02/11/part-iv-davies-in-play-but-who-else-is/

Silly me. I should have known you already did a whole article on this. At least I’m not crazy. Sorry for not doing my homework first.
In my defense, I only found out TSG existed two days ago. lol

No worries John. Thanks for your contributions.
I need to put a post for new folks, welcoming them. My fault on that one…
The only real pointers the community subscribes to are:
* Try not to be personal
* Back up your opinion with evidence
* No flaming
We all enjoy good smack talk banter, but at the expense of good analysis and commentary.
Two best parts about this site to me?
1) Awesome community where everyone learns from what the other person writes
2) Seriously smart soccer fans coalescing (see best part number 1)

i know this may sound crazy (especially for my first post) but i thought with charlies longer hair and trash-stache and the fact that he seemingly has put on some upper body mass that he is looking strangely similar to ronaldo(the fat) right about now
