You’ve got to include Paul on here somewhere!

So hard to answer the first beforehand. Pretty sure Sneijder has it (and the Ballon d’Or) locked up if the Dutch win. Schweinsteiger deserves recognition, but I doubt he’ll get higher than third.

Skip the other rides, get to Honda. This guy is a major cog, bang for your buck (assuming Man City or some other monstrosity doesn’t want him).

WAY too few votes for Mexico in 2014. They are young, fast, skilled, and hungry. I’m very afraid of USA in qualification for 2014, because I think the other CONCACAF teams are going to improve a WHOLE lot in the next quadrennium.

I am not so sure that the other CONCACAF members can bridge the gap in quality in one cycle. I still believe that the USA and Mexico should comfortably qualify *if* they play to their maximum.

Yes but i think with the slow removal of Donovan and Dempsey the us can really have a strong squad. We could essentially have a very nice possession squad. It all comes down to the coach’s decisions. Granted the best people can predict for 2014 is a rather old squad on average. Maybe the us will have issues qualifying for 2018 with concacaf still vastly improving but the other nations don’t even get 4 years. You can say they will be great squads in less than 4 years.

This assumes a static US. Why won’t the US get better as well?

New Zealand is not included in the team surprised the most? They were supposed to be the joke of the tournament next to North Korea, and yet they didn’t lose a single game.
