Rainy City Highlighters Vs. L.A.’s Galaxicos: Go

Not sure if anyone wants to follow along, but we’ll be online here and watching.

Just a note, the Galaxy gave up nearly twice as many goals at home this year (wide pitch?, home field malaise?) so the Sounders have a shot.

End of the the day, the Landos have it.

Cheers!

Galaxy, triumphant on the road...

Starting line-ups:

Sounders: Keller, Riley, Ianni, Marshall, Gonzalez, Nyassi, Alonso, Sturgis, Zakuani, Nkufo, Montero.

Galaxy: Ricketts; Lewis, Gonzalez, DeLaGarza, Franklin (FRANKLIN!); Kovalenko, Donovan, Juninho, Beckham; Buddle, Magee

I’m not sure that I would start Nyassi this game over Fernandez. I think Seattle needs better ball possession, and penetrating passes, and Fernandez provides that.

Alex — completely agree with you — however Fernandez has been a consistent reliever.

I think it’s more a case of going with what got you there.

It seems that LA was resting Mike Magee for the playoffs with Kirovski again on bench…can’t believe I just typed that.

Nice shot of the ACB in pre-game with………the traveling Sounders fans two sections over.

Way to go MLS front offices.

Galaxy really pressing high and daring the ball over the top. Rickets has cleaned up four already. Watch LA’s line as the game goes on.

    OMAR SMASH.

These playoffs have been full of great USMNT prospects/possibilities.

Jeez is Montero playing by himself? That game-plan only works with Buddle.

  9. well this is nice. do you sub becks at half time? I think you have to start looking further right now. I think it wouldn’t be a bad idea, esp on the yellow.

Have no idea why you’d have Fernandez on the bench with Sturgis on the pitch. Can anyone that knows the Sounders explain that to me?

Also, want to go on record (and risk some TSG blasphemy) by suggesting that, given the choice, I’d take DeLaGarza over Franklin in a heartbeat.

Love De La Garza…it looks 3 backs for LA to Camp Cupcake…

He’s technically very sound. Right up there with a, say, Sean Franklin. :>

Just tweeted this and want to post it here because as a MLS fan who remembers the league’s rough times, I think this is pretty damn cool:

A combined 22 players with international caps are played a two leg #MLS playoff in front of 62,521 combined fans, no empty seats. #LAvsSEA

That Montero miss seals the deal on any comeback possibilities for me.
