Messi No Le Lanza!….Messi Don’t Dive

Update:

The took down the terrific Messi Don’t Dive video below. But here is another ditty showing the hits the Argentine takes in the line of duty:

———-

Sorry we’re late to this.

This past weekend Heart Attack Ray Hudson issued an opine (2nd video) on Lionel Messi during Barcelona’s 5-1 thrashing of Espanyol….and recommended a little YouTube ditty on the star from Catalan country (1st video) showcasing Messi’s refusal to go down.

We would be remiss not to give Messi–and Ray Hudson–their just due, especially after we witnessed Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli yesterday seemingly get blown over by the wind on multiple occasions…..and the con jobs so often issued by other forwards and strikers.

And Ballon D’Or or not, he’s, right now, the #1 player in the world.

  1. I think that’s the first time I’ve heard an announcer mention modern technology without talking about some trouble a player has gotten into while using said technology.

The video of him not diving…just goes to show that strong does not have to equal big. Maybe if some of the coaches in the US and England could come to this realization our countries might actually produce better overall players instead of those that are bred to play a specific system.

I wish the whole world would take notice and take this page out of Messi’s book and apply it.

Messi is probably my favorite non-American player in the world (I know, I’m not alone in this). This is a big reason why – the dude simply keeps moving. He doesn’t rely on the refs to reward him for his efforts, he goes out and gets the rewards himself.

And it’s embarrassing that this little guy is taking blows from some of the biggest, strongest players in the game, and not only staying up, but keeping possession.

this is fantastic, you have to respect him.
this is why i hated the final of the world cup though
if robben had gone down (dove) he may have gotten the call thus completely changing the end of that game. that is in a way punishing him for not diving. it shouldnt be like that. somethign needs to happen with the replay, whether its post game cards or huge fines,or whatever, there needs to be consequences when players are obviously diving.
    soccer neeeds to take notice.
    but will it?

that’s something i just love to see, as much as goals or great saves. my non-soccer fan friends always talk shit and say how soccer players are pansies. from now on i will just show them this. there are the tools like ronaldo out there that go down at the slightest touch, but for those players, there are an equal amount that will fight for the ball no matter what, and this sport needs more of those players. thank you messi
