    • Now just keep watching it several times each day.

Well, take caution. You may pass out when the first live ball is kicked.

Getting excited for the MLS season. For me, there still is something about cheering for a domestic league.

Anyway, is TSG going to have a MLS fantasy league on ESPN?

Well, heading down to Denver in the next hour for the Timbers v Rapids. Over 400 members of the TA will be in attendance, and the parties/shindigs are in the works.

Keep an eye out for #denveraway on twitter for visiting Timbers Army updates, as well as the Bulldog Supporters Group, the PID Army, and Class VI for the Rapids.

This is so much better than the majority of hype-up videos they show pregame on FSN or ESPN. Why do the networks get it so wrong?

(Noting also: not just a soccer issue. The last chill-scene hype pregame video I’ve seen was the NBA playoffs last year on TNT.)

    • I LOVED some of the videos that ESPN did for the World Cup, but they really screw it up when it comes to MLS.

One thing I noticed is that networks want to focus on words. They’re telling a story and the video is simply used as a complementary part to the commentary. Sometimes it works, but sometimes the words overtake the highlights.

Let the story tell itself. The highlights and the fans do enough. Anyone watching doesn’t need to be walked through it. That goes back to the piece I wrote about FSC and how they treat their viewers like they’re dumb. That is one of the very few things they share with other channels.

Not sure where to put this, but have you guys seen the “Red All Over” contest ussoccer.com is hosting? People submit a motto for the USMNT kit to be worn against ARG. Pretty cool, but does that mean a third red kit is being revealed?
