MLS Playoffs!: Live: FC Dallas vs. New York Red Bulls

Game Time!

It’s come down to this for the New York Red Bulls. No cushy, concrete confines of Red Bull Arena.

On the road, in Frisco, in the rain.

Hans Backe’s team is typically winners there in their last 4 (3 wins), but Dallas was missing some hands on deck.

Dallas will try to shake the slump–and as we learned in today’s column by Jeff Carlisle–“momentum” going into the playoffs means little.

FC Dallas vs. New York Red Bulls, about to get going. Line-ups shortly.

  1. I’m a die hard Dallas fan, but I’m afraid if Dallas doesn’t stop playing the long ball, this one goes to New York. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve screamed at the TV recently because Chavez, Jackson, or Shea have a ball thrown up to them, and they are left on an island without an outlet anywhere in sight. We’ve got great finishers, but they haven’t been able to show up outside the counter for a while.

That being said, if Villar can show up as an outlet, and Brek and Marvin can have a good game and get the ball to one another in the box, it’s gotta go to Dallas. Go Hoops!

Does the crowd there even realize this is a playoff game? *yawn*

It’s sad that Dallas doesn’t have more support with the talent they have. I was talking to some Dallas fans last year, and the location of the stadium, marketing/ advertising, among other things is very poor apparently.

This game is a classic example and proof that too many teams qualify for the MLS Play-Offs.

George, you live in the New York area, right? Is it worth $50 to sit in upper midfield seats at Red Bull Arena for the playoff game this weekend?

I probably would not pay $50 to watch the NYRBs, but then again, it is the playoffs. But if I was a real fan of the team, I would. Every seat I have sat in at RBA has a perfect view.

There is relying on Shea and then there is “FORCE THE BALL TO SHEA”

    Good grief.
