We all talk about offensive flopping / diving, but nobody talks about its defensive sibling.
Clint Hill knew he was going to get beaten to that cross to the back post, and as soon as he was ‘touched’, he collasped quicker than a Turkish building in an earthquake – and ‘earns’ the freekick. Not one mention of this from the commentators, but it’s one of the oldest defensive tricks in the book.

i dont know if anyone else can read lips, but if you get a chance to watch the chievo v inter replay, junior takes a free kick and sends it over the bar, and his reaction is to curse in italian, as he spits out a “vafangulo” thats why we love you michael bradley. if the usa does not win a world cup during his playing days, they will definately win one when he becomes manager of the national team.

every game in MLS tonight has intrugue. columbus v colorado is a good opener. im not sure about this bozo doing the columbus color though. dilly duka v marvell wynne. my money is on the hungry beast. the canadien matchup is vancouver v montreal. should be some good highlights from that game. dcu v skc in the game of the night. well, la v rsl is pretty dope also. does convey play for skc? that really makes it mouthwatering. the last game is bobbys former team, later, former team, san jose, welcoming new england. come on benny feilhaber, make a big statement tonight.

Le Toux with the first goal of the 2011 MLS season. Somewhere, the Sons of Ben are weeping.

Jesse Marsch’s dream of winning every game 0 to -1 has been shattered.

I hope not. I think he has the skill I just hope that we qualify easily and we can get some of the young guys experience.

RFK is awesome though. I know if I was a DC United fan I may wish I had a shiny new stadium but my goodness I love those bouncy bleachers. My two favorite USA games- WCQ vs Costa Rica, and Gold Cup vs Jamaica was at that shrine.

DC needs another central midfield presence, and the backline to stop lumping it forward.

If Harkes is yelling at you for not keeping enough possession (and he is, DC), then you really aren’t keeping enough possession.

credit to skc. that is a strong team with zusi and espnoza. dc has some kinks to work out, like not giving up goals in the last five minutes, but all in all, this is going to be a marvelous MLS season.

Also Schuler. Kind of shocked no one has tried to offload him from RSL. Way too good to be a backup. Judging from the shocking distribution from DC United, there’s at least one team that could use him.

Rumors of RSL’s decline have been greatly exaggerated. They’ve got a lot of middle-aged to young talent on that team.

I wonder what the Champion’s points total will be this season. Something tells me it will be in the 80-85 mark.

We’re going to see the Agudelo/Henry pairing again for NYRB vs FC Dallas. Hoping Agudelo has learned his u-23 lessons and plays a little more disciplined (and doesn’t wander as much).

Today in small sample sizes corroborating what we already thought we knew: Eastern Conference teams have only won one MLS game so far…in the only game in which two Eastern Conference teams played.

van persie is such a little punk. his antics at the end of the newcastle game were weak, and he is the flipping captain. pathetic.!!!!
