Jermaine Jones Watch: Grab A Seat, Pretzels…

…and a cooler of Doppelbock, Jermaine Jones is out for at least six more weeks after surgery to remove a metal plate in his bum shin.

Hat tip to Jason Davis over at Match Fit USA who was on the story.

Here is a longer Bild article that is entitled “New Jones Shock” (as translated by Google). Let me just say, any article having “shock” in the title followed by a picture of an athlete on crutches can’t be a good thing.

Athlete + Crutches = Not Good

Athlete + Crutches = Not Good

Seems like Jones had a second surgery after all despite reports to the contrary out of Schalke last month. With his leg continuing to cause him trouble, the metal plate was removed from his shin via a surgery on Tuesday. Minimum time to pitch is at six weeks according to Schalke skipper, Felix Magath.

As for the mid-fielder’s prospects of joining the USMNT, Magath had this to say (via Google translator), “He wants to continue with the Yanks to South Africa. But that is currently far away.”

Okay, forget the cooler and grab a keg it’s bigger and we can all drown our sorrows. But don’t forget to raise a glass to toast a full and timely recovery for Mr. Jones.

That’s a phenomenal idea. Or maybe we just offer them to the Argentina National Team who look like they are ready to implode.

For technical reasons, Saoldinho’s plan is better thought out… unless you want to buy FIFA off and get them to change that rule about the not playing a official game with the full team😉
