Champions League – Inter Milan versus Spurs

The signing of the season. Whats not to like? Incredible football player and a lovely lovely wife! Yes i'm jealous.

93:00 – Bebe scores as Man United are up 3-0. Copenhagen are holding Barcelona to a 1-1 draw late in Denmark. and PEEEEEP PEEEP PEEP. Game is over as Spurs are deserved 3-1 winners. Are there a better two players in England right now then Bale and Van de Vaart?

90:00 – Milito answers right back with a shot that swerves just wide.

89:00 – GOOOOOAAAAAAL PAV! but all Bale. Kaboul tackles the ball and Bale runs end to end, out paces everyone and sends in an easy cross to Russian who slots it home. Spurs 3 – Inter 1

88:00 – Inter are playing a lot better and Spurs seem to have lost their attacking verve. Maicon has given up completely on defensive duties and becoming increasingly dangerous on the attack.

GOOOOOAAAAAL ETO’O. Brilliant by the Cameroonian. Sniejder passes him the ball outside the box. His first touch is excellent as he rounds Kaboul and buries the ball past Cudicini. Inter 1 – Spurs 2.

75:00 – Not too much has happened in the past 10 minutes, though Pav is on and Crouchinho is off

65:00 – Biabiany is off and Coutinho is on for Inter.

64:00 – Crouch sticks another ball in the back of the net as Bale goes by Maicon again. Unfortunately the ball crossed the byline and is right called a goal kick. The Inter fans are stunned.

60:00 – GOAAAAAAALLLL. Crouchinho, but once again all Bale. The monkey man skips by Maicon and two other Inter defenders as if they were cardboard cuts outs of Jean Luc Piccard, and sends in a delightful cross, that Tweeter (Crouch) sticks out one of his long legs to slide the ball home. Spurs 2 – Inter 0

58:00 – Spurs running rampant as they are sending wave upon wave of attack at the Inter defense, who are barely hanging on.

56:00 – Another cross from Hutton and Crouch rises above and heads it goalward, but Castellazzi does well to parry it over the bar.

51:00 – Lennon is fouled and his free kick comes into the box but his poorly cleared. Ball comes to Bale who tries a less spectacular over head kick that goes inches wide. Muntair is off and Nwankwo is on for Inter.

48:00 – Van de Vaart did not come out of the tunnel in the second half. Word is, that his hamstring is flaring up. Jenas replaces him.

47:00 – Bale sends in a cross that Crouch chests and tries one of his patented over head kicks, but he fluffs at it and Inter clear.

46:00 – Second half under way and Tortellini is still on the boil…sigh.

PEEEEP and its half time and Spurs are up 1-0. Tortellini time here at TSG studios.

46:00 – Amazingly Huddlestone gets muscled off the ball.

43:00 – Inter from out of no where, get a free kick outside of the box. Sneijder takes the free kick and sends a lovely shot in, that Cudicini spectacularly saves.

41:00 – Bale attacks down the left again. Maicon is no where to be seen. His cross finds Crouch who heads down to Van der Vaart who lays off to Frank Gore, I mean Tom Huddlestone who balloons it for three points.

38:00 – Inter attack well, but Sneijder as good a player as he is, could have done a lot better if he had passed it. Instead he tries the same shot he as attempted twice already. The result is the same as well, as Cudicini easily gathers.

36:00 – Samuel cynically brings a speedy Lennon down and gets carded for his efforts. Van der Vaarts free kick goes out for a corner.

30:00 – Chivus encounter with Van der Farts (sic) ass, seems to have woken him up as he skips and dribbles into the penalty box. His pass finds an attacker whose shot is ricocheted for a corner. Nothing comes of it.

25:00 – Either Maicon is the worst defender in the game or Bale is amazing. The monkey man skips by him for the fourth time and sends in a beautiful cross that Crouchinho tries to one-time, but his shot goes wide. He should have done better.

23:00 – Spurs playing inspired soccer here as Bale once again leaves Maicon in his wake. His cross though is behind Crouch and in an effort to defend, Chivu plants his face in Van der Vaarts butt. He goes down, but after a minute gets back up

18:00 – GOOOOOOALLL. VAN DER VAART…but it was all Modric. The wee Croatian gets the ball, fakes a shot that completely fools Muntari. As the rest of the defense collapses around him, he slides the ball to Van der Vaart who slots the ball past the sprawling keeper. Spurs 1 – Inter 0

14:00 – Inter pinging the ball around nicely and are beginning to impose themselves a little more. That said. Bale is ABUSING Maicon whose stock has fallen from its lofty heights since the WC.

9:00 – Modric is making up for being substituted in the first game due to Gomes’s sending off by wrecking havoc in the center of the pitch. His final shot lacks power and is saved by the out-stretched Castellazzi.

7:00 – Eto’s gets the ball and is given way to much space and sends in a shot that is much closer than Spurs originally thought. Kaboul will have to watch out

6:00 – All Spurs in the opening minutes as they are choosing to attack down the flanks. Lennon is relishing taking on the slower paced Chivu. Inter doing a good job of clearing all the crosses.

2:00 – Bale tires to round Miacon but pushes the ball out of bounds. They slap hands in recognition of each others greatness!

Who would you currently rather have on your team?

TWEEEEET and Spurs kick it off.

Crouchino gets the start as he tends to wreck havoc on European teams. That and his relationship with Van der Vaart (who passed a late fitness test) should give Rafa and Inter something to think about.

Spurs: Cudicini; Hutton, Gallas, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Huddlestone, Modric, Bale; Van der Vaart; Crouch
Subs: Pletikosa, Jenas, Pavlyuchenko, Keane, Palacios, Bassong, Kranjcar

Inter: Castellazzi; Maicon, Lucio, Smaeul, Chivu; Zanetti, Muntari; Pandev, Sneijder, Biabiany; Eto’o
Subs: Oralndoni, Cordoba, Milito. Materazzi, Coutinho, Santon, Nwankwo

Rafa is back in England as the gaffer of Inter Milan. Currently second in Serie A, Benitez is doing his best to stamp his identity on the team and banish all things “special one”. Meanwhile Spurs are still fuming over Clattenburg’s disastrous call, that Nani took advantage off, as Spurs were 2-0 losers up at Old Trafford.

In the first match up Inter were up 4-0 after 40 minutes, but slack defending and some brilliance from Plant of the Apes star Gareth Bale made it a nervy 4-3 win for the Italian giants.

Spurs will look to impose their home field advantage at White Hart Lane. We at TSG TV studios will be doing live commentary.

Love Van Der Vaart in the hole for Spurs. Was a steal before the transfer window. Precisely a different player than Modric.

That Maicon for best player in game quote that I was using this summer….no bueno right now.

    The guy does seem disinterested.

Bale has skinned more than once. Pity he is Welsh!

George…who’s the young kid that London keep saying is “the English Gareth Bale”

Not sure. The only ones I can think of are older than Bale. Are you thinking of Danny Rose (he scored that wonder goal vs. Arsenal last season)?

          Nope. Youngster u-20 or u-17….Rose is pint-sized. anywho…

In the battle of the Dutch No. 10s, I think that goes to VdV, even though he only played one half.

I can’t believe Shaun missed the opportunity to blog inzaghi v inzaghi. Higuain doesn’t hold a poaching candle to Inzaghi.
